Videos Will Not Play After Import in Premiere Pro

Question

After I import a video (.mp4 or .mov) it will not play. I tried to uninstall and reinstall, I cleared the media cache, I reset the preferences and nothing works. I used another computer with Premiere Pro on it and the video worked just fine. This is a new Mac Mini with very little on it. Any suggestions how to get it to work? Thanks!

p.s. i don't think the adobe website, and forums in particular, are easy to navigate, so don't spend a lot of time searching that forum list. do your best and we'll move the post if it helps you get responses.
