Question

View 29.97 DF TC while in 23.976 sequence?

Let us say you are editing in a 23.976 sequence but know at the end that you will be converting to 29.97i DF for broadcast delivery.

Is there a way to have a secondary / alternate sequence TC display to let you know where you are?

Thanks,

Jef

Not if you have to deliver both a 23.976p master and a 59.94i master.  Somewhat common these days in my world.

Create a second sequence that matches your 23.976 except for frame rate, interlacing, and timecode rate and type.

Once it is created, from your Project Panel, drag the first sequence into the new timeline making sure the "Insert Sequences as Nests and not individual Clips" is toggled on:

Now return to your original sequence to edit, anything you do there will be reflected in the nested version on the 29.97 timeline. You can use the tabs at the top of the timelines to switch back and forth between them to see the timing at 29.97.

IIRC, AVID had a built in calculator that would let show this on your 23.97 timeline, Premiere, AFAIK does not.

Very clever suggestion.  I will give it a try.

I noted the Avid tool in a post I wrote while yours came in.

    Thanks,

i would edit in a sequence that matches the delivery specs.  Much easier.
