When I click the microphone button to record a voice-over, there is a bunch of lound static noise coming out of my computer. It does not happen in Imovie so its just premiere. I checked that my microphone settings were correct, anyone knows how to fix this?

have you tried to drop the buffer size down? This was driving me crazy too until I put it down to 256. Just remember to bump it back up to 512 after you record if you're having playback issues.

I'm having the same issue, and none of these replies have helped me.  Are there any other suggestions?

Changing this setting worked for me.

    (On a Mac:)

    Premiere Pro>Preferences>Audio Hardware>Settings button>Format dropdown: Select a 2-channel option if a 4-channel option is selected.

Make a screen-grab of your Audio Hardware setting dialog in Premiere. Then reply by clicking the blue Reply button on your original post, and drag/drop the image onto the reply box.
