VR180 stereo metadata problem

Hello everyone,

I have some problems with the metadata for an VR 180 stereo video. I am rendering an project to an image sequence using 3D max and VRay. In Vray I used an spherical 180 camera and stereo sbs. The output resolution is 7680 x 3840 pixels. I placed this sequence in Premiere and export it using an H265 codec. There I will choose Video is VR with these settings: Stereoscopic side by side, Horizontal Vof 180, Vertical Vof 180. Unfortunately if I check the video in VLC or windows mediaplayer, the result will be an video in 360 degrees not 180. Testing on an headset has the same results. How can I fix this problem? Is this an known issue?

Each eye for a 180 vr video should be rendered as square 1080x1080 for example, so when placed side by side they will have a combined 2:1 ratio and the image in total will be 2160x1080
not sure if this is yuor problem, but this is how I do it in Blender. There is another issue in that vertical and horizontal edges some out wobbly, but haven't solved that yet 🙂
