Warp Stabilizer doesn't work on nested sequence in Premiere Pro

Whenever I drag the Warp Stabilizer to a nested sequence Premiere crashes.

Is there a way to stabilize a nested sequence wihtout the need to open the nested sequence and stabilize each shot?

Best is to use WS on a single shot or nest with just one or two shots.

You wont get a satifactory result when dropping WS on a nest containing a bunch of clips.

The nested sequence has only two video files in it however the nested sequence is cut in pieces while when you open the sequence the two videos are still one long video

Ann is correct. Why? Two things:

  • Warp is one of the most resource-demanding effects in Premiere Pro, first. Applying it to an entire sequence is like applying about three or four instances of Neat video noise reduction on top of each other in resource demands.
  • The settings needed to get the best result with one clip will not be the exact settings best suited for even a fairly similar clip, so it needs to be able to analyze on a per-clip basis.

When you apply to an entire nested sequence, you get the massive resource-demands of analyzing the first clip ... then it hits the second one and tries to redo everything ... and on down the line. Yes, this will completely overload system resources and crash Premiere on most any computer.

I get it but at least there should be a warning pop-up that warns you that it's a hard process and Premiere will most likely crash and you'll have the option to continue or cancel the WS action.

This way not every time I apply the WS to a nested sequence by mistake, it'll crash (and hopefully I have saved everything before I make this mistake if not......🙎)
