Question

Warp Stabilizer extreme slow when used on footage that is slowed down

Hi guys.

When I warp stabilize normal footage it takes less then 30 seconds to finish. I have a great PC so this should not be an issue.

When I slow down my 60FPS footage in "speed/duration" to 24FPS, nest it and then add warp stabilizer, it takes 30 minutes to finish.

I never had this issue before in the past and am wondering why this is happening. Even when I interpret the footage to 24FPS, it is equally slow as when I speed/duration and nest it.

Anyone having these issues?

Best,

Warp is the most resource demanding effect in Premiere. Applying it with several other heavy-CPU load things like ramping/speed-changes simply creates the possibility of Bad Things Happening.

Having used it for some years, as a totally practical matter, I do suggest doing as Peru Bob says ... do the Warp first ... but then, do a full render & replace so you now have a replacement clip, stabilized, but with no effects on it. This lowers the load ... and potential problems ... dramatically.

Now do whatever else you need ...

Everyone's mileage always varies ...

Try warp first, nest and then slow down.
