Warp stabilizer shaking/jittering when subject is lost

Hi,

 

Recently I have been having an issue with a specific clip where when Warp Stabilizer is applied, the footage is perfectly smooth as long as the subject is clearly visible in the frame, but for the time when it is briefly obstructed, it jitters and shakes, and then goes back to being normal again once the subject is back in the frame clearly. It is set to position only and I have tried playing with the smoothness setting, to no avail. Any tips on this?

Hi.

Have you tried do to a detailed analysis with Warp Stab?

Warp stabilizer can be very tricky and if you can't fix it in PP, time for some keyframing in AE.

Hey Stephen,

That must be frustrating! Could you try adding cuts to the section of the clip where the subject is outside of the frame, reset Warp Stabilizer, and analyze it again? Let us know how it goes.
