warp stabilizer + speed

hi folks! i have been using warp stabilizer and speed for some time with success! though im wondering a couple of things.

1. regarding speed, i use optical flow when i slow down clips, but i have been using it to speed up clips aswell, is there an advantage to using optical flow on sped up clips, my mind tells me it wouldnt change much since, frames shouldnt be created, but im wondering if speeding up clips could create new frames..

2. i have been applying the stabilizer to the clip and then nesting and using speed and all other effects on the nest. would that be the right order? i use solely lumetri (first), speed, lens correction, corner pin, rotation, position and scale on the nest.

thx!

When doing multiple heavy effects ... and speed, warp, and Lumetri each qualify! ... I would probably do the speed, then Warp, then do a full render & replace to a new clip.

THEN I'd do color and any other effects to the new clip. Even with a 24 core 128GB desktop, that will work better for playback and final export.

Although some clips ... I might do the R&R simly after the Warp step. Warp being the nastiest thing to have in the processing change I know of. Worse than video noise reduction.

1, trial and error.

2. I would do all effects on the clip, nest and WS as last one.

I would use Lumetri last.
