Waveform motion graphic template?

Does anyone know how to create a keyable (vector?) motion waveform for use in Adobe Premiere? I was wondering if there is a template.

I'd like it to be the actual wave form of the audio recording that's playing under it. Basically, I'm trying to create a video where I layer the moving waveform on top of an image as it moves to the audio we're hearing.

Thanks for your help on this!

Hello @jenna_0636,

Thanks for the question and welcome to the forum. Follow Ann's suggestion to use After Effects. Do a tutorial search on using the "Audio Spectrum" effect. It's fairly easy to implement there. If you need help, our After Effects forum experts await your queries. I wish you luck.

Thanks,
Kevin

This does bring up a good point though - as far as doing media substitutions to mogort templates within Premiere:
To my knowledge audio is ignored in essential graphics media replacements.

I had to produce many of these type of waveform animations for a range of interviews a while back, and I tried making a template for my less AE familiar Premiere editor Colleagues, but nope.

Would be handy for many editors producing podcasts etc to be able to easily template-ize this workflow...

Since you mention vector:

My (paid) After Effects extension iExpressions has an expression which can generate a vector shape for a waveform of your audio. So you could create this big shape and then just need to animate its position to move from start to finish during playback. But this is just a static shape, so if you are looking for fancy animations, @Kevin-Monahan's suggestion with the audio spectrum is the better option.

Not a job for Premiere.

Might want to check out the After Effects forum.
