Weird Animation Glitch

I created a short animation in After Effects (v. 24.6.4). Since I'm more comfortable editing in Premiere Pro (v. 25.1), I imported the rendered clip, added music and finished the edit by adding a copy of the flying bird to the top track and adding a few keyframes so it would fly off the screen at the end of the credits. I applied a Lighten Blend so the credits wouldn't be obscured. Everything went as expected, but during the last few frames the bird reappeared beyond the bounds of the out point of the clip.

I'm not sure this is actually a bug, but I'm very puzzled how a video track could be visible beyond the cut. Attached is a short video clip that illustrates the problem. Suggestions appreciated.

Hi Kevin,
Although I was able to correct the problem by reimporting isolated clips instead of duplicating marked sections of the master clip. As suggested, I also cleared the cache.
This still left me puzzled how frames could appear outside the bounds of a clip but I finally discovered that the errant frames were in the track below! So this problem solved and on to the next one...

I once had a similar thing, but in AE. Deleting the cache fixed it.

Hi Kevin,

One additional troubleshooting option: I assume the phantom bird could come from any track. Turn off visibility of each track one at a time to see which one is actually including the "bird."

Dont use Dropbox but rather a local drive.

Dropbox is grand for backup but not for editing.

Try deleting the cache, hold down shift as you start PP from the normal icon.

Here are screenshots of the sequence settings and the video clip media properties. (Portions of the same video clip occupy all 3 tracks).
12 fps is a fairly standard frame rate for projects that use only simple motion (such as gif-type or stop-motion animation).

Any reason you need 12 fps?

Please post screenshot sequence settings and media properties of clips in v1, v2 and v3

Thank you for your reply. Here are screenshots of the Premiere export settings as well as a view of the timeline when the glitch appeared. No keyframes were applied to this particular clip in Premiere, the only effect used was the lighten blend mode. Ultimately I solved the problem by rendering the short flying bird animation in AE and importing it separatedly into Premiere—this time nothing appeared beyond the out point!

Hi @cflnest,

Thanks for submitting your bug report and including the video. Yes, it would be helpful if you could post your export settings. I apologize, but I do have to confirm—there weren't any extra keyframes at the end that made it fly back. I'm sure you've checked, but I just want to confirm.

I'm glad you found a workaround that allowed you to finish your project, though.
