Hi,

I want to know two things.

1- Is there any one here who knows after effects also? I mean as it is the premier pro community so I should not ask anythng about AE here, right? but I am having trouble understanding 'Sequence', is it exactly like 'composition' in AE? Or Group in Ai/PSD? I mean I can put multiple media like audio, video, image etc in one 'sequence'? I mean does sequence work like a group? which holds many things and acts as a 'one' entity? exactly like After effects composition which acts as a group?

2- What are these color mean in a video layer? It should show same thing all over its body, right? why some part violet and some light ash?

Thank you.

In video post, a Sequence is a group of clips or other assets like graphics used to tell a story. That's what a non linear editing app does, allow us to string together bits to tell a story.

Ae is NOT a non linear editing app. It is a compositing app, a very different function. It is designed to build short but complex video segments, which are often "composited" from many, many layers, with tons of effects applied per layer of the composition.

So a 20 second comp nay require enormous computing power to "play".

The results are exported out of Ae to be used in an editing app.

And no video app has about anything in common with a stills app like Illustratir or Photoshop. Enormously different design intentions.

A sequence can act as a group if you nest it (like creating a precomp in AE):

https://helpx.adobe.com/lv/premiere-pro/how-to/premiere-pro-nesting-sequence-cc.html#:~:text=To%20nest%20a%20sequence%20in%20another%20sequence%2C%20use%20the%20same,sequence%2C%20including%20those%20described%20below.&text=Select%20the%20clips%20you%20want,new%20sequence%2C%20and%20click%20OK.
