Question

What is the best video format for editing on PP ?

Hello, My configuration information is attached.

I don't understand why I encounter preview lags when editing on premiere pro .. to describe more precisely, the preview on my second monitor (3840x2160 with mercury PE)  has the same effect as when you turn off vertical sync in a video game , there are lines that appear on the monitor while it's playing the sequence (no loss of frames) just this desync which bothers me visually and also to edit properly...

I usually is 4k 10 bit 150 mb/s (.mov) GH5 files stored on an fast NVME SSD, normally there SHOULD not be these lags..

will this problem appear no matter how powerful the machine is? does this relate to the codec of the video? Should I convert files to other formats before I start editing? (eg ProRes?)

Thanks for your help !

When you playback the 4k 10 bit 150 mb/s (.mov) outside of Premiere pro does it play with lag? and what is the codec of the .mov?. I would suggest to use  Prores or Cineform for the editing workflow.
