What is the correct way to stabilize something?

A static shot taken with a tripod. An object is lying on the table in the frame. I need to remove the slight, barely noticeable shake from the tripod so that the shot is perfectly steady. For some reason, Premiere adds zoom and camera shake. I don’t need that. What do zoom and shake have to do with it? I need to remove the slight shake, not add it. The whole point of stabilization is to make the image smooth, not to add zoom and shake.
NewBlue Stabilizer handled this task perfectly, while Premier did a worse job.
