What is the proper way to get rid of proxy files before archiving?

After a project is finished, I'd like to get rid of its proxy file before archiving to save space.

I guess just deleting them would cause Premiere to complain once I reopen the project.

How should I go about it?

Just delete them from the hard drive.  You can always recreate them if needed.

Thanks Jim, well it may be there will be no need for proxies when I need the project again (new computer etc.).

So apparently the steps needed were:

    - Delete proxies

    - When reopen the project, PP complains those are not found so set them all offline.

    - Save project.

    - Archive project

Next time project opens it no longer complains and that's what I was looking for.
