Question

What is the workflow for customizing SRT captions before importing to Premiere?

Hi there!!!

Here's my situation: I'm creating subtitles in Spanish using a program called InqScribe, that allows me to save the file as an SRT file.

From there, I am able to import the SRT file to Premiere, drag it onto my timeline to match the video, no problem!

However, I'd like to be able to either

1) customize the look of the captions all at once (right now I can only seem to go into each individual caption to change the format)

- I would prefer to have a White letters without a black background and add a drop shadow.

(I know how to do this for each individual caption, but because I have hours of subtitles, this process will take far too long.)

2) find a workflow where I can customize the format BEFORE importing it to Premiere.

Anyone that can help with this I would greatly appreciate it. I remember using Final Cut and being able to customize the subtitles all at once. Maybe I'm just missing a simple step? I'm new to Premiere

Thanks all,

Megan

I just found a solution for this!!!

Right click on the captions in Project panel>>Modify>>Captions>>and now you can change the video setting!!

And, as long as you updated the latest version, you can change the format of all captions by using SHIFT.
