What type of input LUT to use with Cine 4 footage?

I have some footage shot with a Sony camera in Cine4 format. As far as I understand it, this is not a LOG format, does this mean that it is
rec 709? Do I need to choose a rec 709 input LUT in Lumetri for this?

Thanks

Nearly all broadcast video is BT(Rec.)709, though a very few places still use ... 608? Whatever it was. The analogue standard for the old videotape gear.

And now there is  ... 2020? ... the wide dynamic range standard ... that will become more used over the next five years. But *very* few cameras can shoot this now.

Other than that, almost all video is 709 out of camera. So assume 709. And PrPro is straight 709.

Log videos are still Rec709 just encoded with a different gamma/linearization schema designed to record the widest range te camera can shoot to file. So the conversion LUTs are to change the encoded gamma/linearization to the visually useful settings.

Most of the colorists I know "roll their own" and frequently have several per camera for type of scene or project.

Yes, it shows as a camera profile in 709, and not a log setting. Although if you work with a camera much, it can be very useful to note characteristics to both enhance and to mitigate, and make basic presets for quick starting points.

For clarification, are all videos that are not in a log format considered rec 709? OR are only some types of videos considered rec 709?

    Thanks.
