Question

When exporting a video from Premiere CC, the video and audio work fine on my computer and iPad, but my audio is muted on phone devices, but when I plug in my headphones I can hear it. Any help would be appreciated.

I have exported my video with the h.264 YouTube codec to upload onto YouTube. When I upload onto YouTube, I can hear my voice and background music just fine on my computer and laptop. However, when I play it on my phone my voice is muted, but not the background music. But if I plug in headphones my voice is heard loud and clear. I thought it could have been a YouTube bug. But I did different renders and I get the same problem for Vimeo and Facebook if it's played on my phone. Even my friends can hear me just fine on all of their devices except their phones. My voice is suddenly not muted when they plug in headphones. I have never had this happen and it doesn't make any sense. Since it plays fine on every device that tells me it works. Why am I muted out on phones???

    I had this issue

What it was, was the sample rates of each track, the music and the V/O were different. In sequence settings I changed the sample rate to the lower of the two (41000) and it worked.

In Premiere, solo your voice track or the music track and check to see if it is in both left and right channels or not.

A common issue is that an incorrectly wired microphone (mono) can record the same sound to left and right stereo channels with L and R audio having phase inversion (opposite). When listened to as stereo, sounds fine, but when L and R are combined the signals cancel one another out!

Try this in Premiere - for the audio track giving you the problem, apply either FILL LEFT or FILL RIGHT audio effect. Export. Test. Fixed??

    Thanks

Hi Eric: this is the non-technical Lounge forum. I am going to move your question to the Premiere forum so that you will get an answer from someone who knows Premiere.
