Question

When I change the sequence aspect ratio to square pixels, the video no longer plays back

I've created an hour+ video with motion, sequence effects, various clip sizes etc., when I realised I was editing in 1.333 rather than square pixels.

No problemo, I'll switch the sequence settings and configure anything that becomes oddly sized. Only problem is that by switching to square pixels 1.0, it refuses to playback the footage in the timeline. Any solution?

Hi, bro! Try changing the playback resolution in the preview window - this is a drop-down option: full, 1/2, 1/4, etc.

Hi there,

Sorry to hear about this. Are you experiencing this issue with this specific project or is it happening with all the projects? Is the playback working if you switch the Pixel Aspect ratio back to 1.33? Also, please share a screenshot of the Audio Hardware preference window.

Thanks,

Sumeet

Try copy and pasting the clips to a new correct sequence.

Delete media cache and/or

make new project and import old one.

See how that goes.

No luck, still can't play back the completed project in the new aspect ratio.

Did you just changed the aspect ratio or also the frame size?
