hello, the initial mp4 file is ok, but after importing it, i notice that it stops suddenly and its duration is smaller than it really is. it plays perfect in vlc media player. this is before any transformations made in premiere. how can i fix this? is there a setting in premiere that controls the maximum length of a clip?

thank you very much, i really need to solve this.

Right-click the file in the project panel, and select "properties" so you see what Premiere sees that clip as being. Is it correct?
