When I'm working with headphones on, the audio preview only works in my right ear

Question

I'd like to be able to hear the preview in my left earbud, too. That would be convenient and less stressful. Working with two audio channels is much more convenient—where is this hidden option? Why hasn't this been made publicly available yet? P.S. Please don't tell me about headphones, cache, or updates.

@Kevin-MonahanYes! I found out that the Audio Metters panel works in two different modes, and it has different settings in the Source window.

I work with headphones, hear both sides ever since Premiere 6.5.

Might want to check windows setting or update audio driver.

As you have all kind of issues most of us cannot reproduce I suggest you have a good hard look at your computer configuration.
