Where did the multicamera labels go?

I do a lot of 20-30 camera multi cam edits. Once you nest the sequence, and enabled multi cam, it used to say what camera you were on as well as the file name. Now it just says the file name and it's driving me crazy. How can I get it back?

To display the selected camera angle in a multi-camera source sequence, you need to convert the sequence within the Project panel.

  1. In the Project panel, locate the sequence you want to use.
  2. Drag the sequence into the Source Monitor.
  3. Right-click the clip in the Source Monitor and choose Multi-Camera > Enable.
  4. After switching back to the Project panel, the sequence will display the selected camera angle in all of its instances across other sequences.

So, I drop everything in on separate tracks. Select all. Nest sequence. Right click on the new single track and click multicamera > enable and it becomes a multi cam sequence. I can cut between the cameras but it doesn't day what number camera it is anymore in the sequence. Just the name of the file

In this example, the track  in this position ought to have a distinct label Camera 2.
Instead all track  camera cuts  just have the file name of the same multicam subsequence..

@videobymotty Thanks for reaching out.  What is the process you are using to generate your multicams?
