Where is Premiere CS5's image stablization function?

hi all,

Premiere Pro used to have a image stablization effect i can't seem to find.  From what i've read, it appears to be included in after effects as "warp stablizer".  Is that correct for CS5?

    Yes, it is Nados. I was disappointed as Premiere Pro 1.5.1 had SteadyMove Pro as a Third Party Plug In, which was not bad, but, you could download from ProDAD, gmbh , Mercalli Pro V2 ,(you can trial this and see what you think) and for a Plug In at quarter of the price of After Effects, if you do not need anything other than an image stabilizer, it is very professional. The combined package gives you a Stand Alone application which will work on a 32 bit system, but there is a 64 bit Mercalli Pro V2 included and it is very fast and vfery effective with a Nividia Fx  3800. And CS5.5.2 is very fast indeed and wonderful to edit with, good luck.

    I must admit the image stabilizer in Premiere Elements 4 is also very good, as is the stunning image stabilizer in Sony Vegas Movie Studio Platinum 11 at $119 all up in a 32 bit system, take them for a test drive.

    I did not need After Effects for what we do .Adobe could surely have included an image stabilizer? The beauty of CS5.5.2 is that you can Import stabilized clips ( I use H.264 mov 1920 x 1080p and HDV 1440 x 1080i) from either Premiere Elements or Sony Vegas into the timeline if you need to ?

    Are you talking about SteadyMove? That's long gone. The Warp Stabilizer is new in After Effects CS5.5; it's not available in any version of Premiere Pro.

    I have CS5 not CS5.5...  If it's not included in CS5, is there a third party app i can use or will i just have to reach into my wallet for CS5.5?

    BTW, i wonder how long it will take before this "Warp Stablizer"  in after effects disappears!

    I know some folks use a program/plug-in called ProDad Mercalli; might see if there is a demo of that (no experience with it, myself). I'm sure there are others as well.

    Why would Warp Stabilizer disappear from AE? It's a pretty incredible technology, so it would seem unlikely that they'd invest all the time and energy into making it happen just to get rid of it. I believe you can get an AE demo that is fully functional and try it out; I've used it to stabilize some shots that were otherwise throwaways.
