Question

Why are the in/out frames in the Program monitor while using the slip tool much smaller?

The in/out frames (2 of them) in the Program monitor while using the slip tool used to stretch to fill most of the frame. Recently, I’ve been getting much smaller rectangles (frames) that preview those in and out points --- and one small rectangle in the upper left,as well.

🤔🤔🤔🤔 Maybe I inadvertently changed a setting?

    Already did that. No matter.

What DOES work is if I change the from scale to frame size to fill frame or no scaling at all. But I never had to do this before. For years I’ve worked with 4K footage in an HD sequence --- and the slip tool worked as it should. In the last month or two...the small previews started.

Not an emergency here, but ...odd

Can you try a new project with different media?

    Thanks,
    Kevin

Not scaled up. Will reset preferences

That’s kinda weird. Are these clips scaled up in your sequence? If not, you may want to press Shift at launch to get the Reset Options dialog box. Then, delete media cache and reset preferences (note: you may lose some customization by doing so). That may help. Let us know if it does.

    Thanks,

    Hi Ernie,
Thanks for reporting this. I don't believe there's a preference that intentionally changes the size of the Slip tool preview, so I'd like to gather a little more information.

    Could you let us know:

    • Which version of Premiere Pro are you using?

    • What operating system are you on (Windows or macOS)?

    • Does this happen in every project or only a specific one?

    • If possible, could you share a screenshot of the Program Monitor while you're using the Slip tool? Seeing the extra small rectangle in the upper-left corner would be especially helpful.

Also, have you changed anything recently, such as your workspace layout, monitor configuration (DPI/scaling), or Program Monitor resolution settings?

With a screenshot and your version information, we can determine whether this is an expected UI change, a display scaling issue, or something else.

    Thanks,

    Kevin
