why can I not get my voiceover to record?

I am working with premiere CS6 and logitech headphones.....I know how to set up system to do a voiceover, but when I do the recording, it shows that I did it in the audio timeline but there is no audio, just a straight line like I said nothing (the green box appears in the timeline).......I have updated my nvidia soundcard and this all worked many times before, but I am at a loss as to how to correct this. I have the preferences set to premier pro wdm sound and the speakers set to blackmagic audio sound and also logitech headset which both give me sound when I test them.......??????
