Why does Enhance Speech lose sections of word's pronunciation?

I am editing a video of someone talking using Adobe Premiere Pro 2025. There is a video and audio in the timeline sequence. After I choose "enhance audio", the speaker's word "excellence" does not sound correct. The sound ence is lost. How can I correct this?

    Correction: My above post should have read "enhance speech."

    Hi,

    Thanks for the post. Have you tried turning down the Mix Amount? Let me know if that helps.
