Question

Why does the new Premiere Pro 23.1 not work in OS Catalina?

Having slowly getting used to WFH colaborative editng which has been on the rise since covid, the recent updates to  colaborative editing like sequence locking, etc sounds great forteam projects however all the new upgrades from Ppro 23.0 seems to be only for Big Sur and upwards. Is there any specific reason why these upgrades about the team projects couldn't have been added to the versions supported by Catalina? Honestly it really sucks that anyone not having Big Sur can't avail the new upgrades and I can't even uprade to Big Sur due to my Mac specs.

ShouBan, I feel for you..., you are not the only victim here.

Kevin-Monahan  Sorry, but this is absolutely outrageous from ADOBE. Catalina OS was released in October 7, 2019, and you already are illiminating it for users, forcing them to buy new computers?  How Lazy can ADOBE get?  For some upgrading an OS means upgrading many other pieces of software as well.  There is no other legit company that does this lazy nonsense but ADOBE. Sorry to say I have to use ADOBE software for work with some companies. Otherwise, I would never touch it.

Sorry, ShouBan,

The product team bumps the requirements for successive versions of Premiere Pro so that obsolescence can sneak up on you. Around every five years, you can count on needing a hardware upgrade to keep up with non-linear editing software requirements. With those requirements, an update for your OS is often required too. It may be time to treat yourself to a new Mac.

Thanks,
Kevin
