Why has Premiere Version 26 created many problems for Third Party Transitions Packages

I’m submitting this as a question but also could be classed as a Bug and Feature Request !.

I’ve seen several users complaining of their Third Party Video Transitions Package stop working in Version 26. I’m included in that list as my old transitions package has failed to work correctly in Version 26.

There is vague information in Adobe articles that describes how architecture has changed in Version 26 , however nothing concrete to help users.

Adobe’s new Transitions offer is a start but it is woefully inadequate to meet the needs of many users.

If you are a user and want to purchase a third package that works with Premiere 26 - what should a user be looking for?.

It seems that older CEP based extensions may cause problems since Adobe are moving to UXP based architecture.

The .jsx scripts in my package fail to execute correctly and now do not add the necessary overlays on the video cut, and furthermore  audio (if applicable ) cannot be accessed.

Time to upgrade it, but how does a user purchase with confidence ?.

This is a grey area and Premiere users need some clarity moving forward please.

You should ask the third party if it is compatible.

    Hey @JonesVid,

Thanks for the post. I’ll share your comments with the team. I believe we’re in the same territory as when After Effects plug-ins face obsolescence for one reason or another. It’s up to the developers to provide updates for these “effects.” Sorry about that.

    Cheers,
    Kevin
