Any file I try to import (image/video) I see "import pending"  when i hover over the file. When i try to drag into into the timeline also it shows the same. If i try to play raw footage Premier Pro hangs or crashed. I cleared cache, removed the software and installed it again. Nothing seems to work. Please HELP!

Correct answer Ann Bens

Your machine is way underpowered it does NOT meet minimum system requirements for 2019.

Might want to try 2018 which is less demanding. But dont get your hopes up.

Hi kartikb9016807,

Sorry to hear that you are facing this issue. Where are the media files (that you are trying to import) saved (internal drive, external/network drive)? Also, have you tried resetting app preferences (FAQ: How to reset (trash) preferences in Premiere Pro? ) and manually cleaning the cache files from its directory(FAQ: How to clean (delete or trash) media cache files? ) and checked if it's working properly.

Thanks,

Sumeet

I have tried resetting app preferences (FAQ: How to reset (trash) preferences in Premiere Pro? ) and manually cleaning the cache files from its directory(FAQ: How to clean (delete or trash) media cache files? ). But Import did not work.

I now downloaded 2018 Version and the import is working!

I am now able to edit. Thanks a lot to everyone for the help

have you managed to import any content? I'd suggest trying to import a range of images types, small to large in size, and the same for video. This can help locate the cause of the problem.

I could import one small size image. I am unable to upload Bigger images or Video of any length.

When I opened an old project of mine (Which I edited in my old laptop). Everything seemed to work fine. It did not hang at all in the 2hours of editing and everything was being processed quickly.  I could work with it and all the files which were already imported in it without any hassle.

But i could not import anything new into this project:

The only issue I am having is with import

Here are my system specifications:

Sometimes this can take time depending on the system and the resolution of the footage. Maybe try importing a single shorter clip and see if it behaves better. Can you give us system specs and information about the footage resolution/type?
