Why is the new Mask Tool so horrible?

Old workflow (p for pentool, h for moving the frame, select again with p) is gone, new one n.e., my daily mask routine takes now 2-3 times longer

no overlays, edges or anchor points showing

overall very buggy and massively counterintuitive

As Stan and Rob note, it’s very difrerent and you need to read the documentation to see how it works!

Yea, that’s very annoying at first, but ... it is so vastly more powerful that going to Ae to rotoscope is pretty much a thing of the past.

There is a serious learning curve, and it has its pain points. They recognize it is “daunting,” and just posted links to resource and tutorials.

Would you mind describing you’re work flow?

Have you tried clicking on a mask vector and pressing alt or option and dragging the handles to adjust your masks? It’s pretty cool.
