Why is there a huge difference in how Premiere renders transparency in GPU and SOFTWARE mode?

Hi Adobe, Why is this possible? Ofcourse I always run in GPU mode with a GTX1080, but now I need to change it to SOFTWARE mode to get the right colours?

Correct answer Averdahl

shrtj, go to Sequence > Sequence Settings and un-check Composite in Linear Color.

This will probably solve the issue for you and will allow you to still use the GPU. Report back.

"Why" is because different processing modes are used for each.

I believe that this is related to a somewhat old issue that has never been resolved.

Take a look at the discussion, the issue is very well documented.
