I've been using Premiere for more than 20 years now. I always have a problem with saving the workspaces there is no way of saving the workspaces and lock them in place it's always messy and always I have to adjust them and it's realy a nightmare because it has to be done every time I open the project, nothing sticks in it's place.

Forgot to add, make  sure you do NOT have "import workspaces from project" toggled on. As that will not respect your saved workspaces.

I allways have it off.

But why the interface/windows goes crazy when you have you project open and you open another project just to copy/paste something from?

In this case you need to re-adjust the windows again after you close the newly opend project.

Why not have everything fixed even when you open an extra project.

I'm working nearly totally in Productions mode these days ... so I don't run into that at all.

Although when I do ... normally in the public beta ... I've not run into this either, and that's nearly always a stand-alone project. So ... I wonder what's the difference?

Keep in mind that Workspaces in Premiere Pro are dynamic—they continue to update automatically as you make changes, even after you've saved them.

To revert a Workspace back to its original saved state, go to Window > Workspaces > Reset to Saved Layout. This will restore the layout to how it was when you last saved it.

Thank you Paul.

How do I lock them and not having them dynamic?

You can't ever actually lock them. But I've never had any issues with having my named saved-as custom spaces not set as I've wanted them.

And I add a number to the name, as in 1 Assembly, as then the built-in keyboard shorts for 9 numbered spaces are set for my saved workspaces.

But again, you can't change any of the built-in and save the change unless you rename it.

I have worked without difficulty with four monitors for a decade. I have nine custom workspaces. so the issue isn't Premiere, well not mostly, but requires learning how their system works.

First you can't just modify a built-in workspace and "save" as it won't allow you to modify the native workspaces. You have to save as a new named workspace.

And do not drag the main Premiere window across multiple monitors. Drag a Premiere panel section to another monitor, size it to leave a bare minimum of monitor background space visible as you can't have it bleed into another monitor or it goes wonky.

You can then add more panels into it, and that becomes a panel group.

Now save as a new named workspace.
