Write XMP ID to files on import in prodcutions

hi there - our team is new to Prodcutions.

Our use case is we have three editors working off an office based Nas. The gudiance is to leave "Write XMP ID to files on import”  checked off in this set up..

We will have use case where an editor takes home a production and cloned media to work at home.. In this set up do we still leave "Write XMP ID to files on import”  checked off?
