xfia video compression issue

I have been handed some raw video files from one of our external agencies and I am unable to import the files correctly - only the audio gets imported.

I then receive the following message: Unable to import video [videoname.mov] File uses unsupported video compression type "xfia".

What I understand from this is that the .mov file uses a compression type not accessible/readable on Windows 10...(?) I am also unable to open the file outside of Premiere Pro in Quicktime Player, VLC, Windows Media Player which leads me to believe that this is likely to be a codec issue. The 'xfia' suggests this was from a Canon C300 mkii also...

Has anyone encountered this themselves and if so how did you resolve it as I am not sure what codec I need (if indeed I do)...?

I am dealing with the same issue right now. I'm thinking that it may have something to do with them passing the footage through Final Cut before handing it off. I am still digging into this and will update if I find the issue.

Never heard of xfia.

Post screenshot of the Media Browser so we can see the file structure.
