XMP Metadata Issues/Bugs (Premiere 2024.2.1)

I'm establishing an ingest workflow where we take footage and use file-based XMP metadata to tag project information on footage and have it reflect across Bridge + Premiere and most importantly, the Metadata & Timecode Burn-In effect for exports.

When I tag a new clip that has never been used, this workflow is pretty seamless. HOWEVER, when I am tagging a clip that HAS been used in previous edits, in those previous edit project files, the metadata will typically reflect in the Metadata panel BUT NOT in the burn-in effect or in the Core Media display column in the Project Panel (in this example, information should be coming from Core "Description" and it isn't).

Is there a way to refresh metadata in a project so this information will reflect? Currently, our fix is incredibly time-consuming: alter each file's metadata and then changing it back. Only then will the metadata be properly reflected in the burn-in effect.

Again, the XMP linking is on. The metadata for "Description" is showing up in the Metadata panel. But IT IS NOT showing up in the burn-in effect without cumbersome troubleshooting. Can anyone help?

We are open to creating sidecar files in addition if this will squish this bug.
