Yellow Render Line Premiere Pro

Hi all,

I've selected all the clips in my timeline and rendered by going to "sequence > Render Selection" ~ there is still a yellow line above my film?? and I am preparing to export..

Any ideas?

    Render Selection only works on red lined clips.  If you set In and Out points and use Render In to Out, it will render everything.

    The yellow line ... or the red line ... above the clips is only an approximate warning. It means you may have dropped frames or stuttered playback, not that you will. Most of my sequences are just yellow all the time. With red bits. And rarely do I have a problem, so I just ignore it and work away until I get dropped frames.

    As to exporting ... unless you have set your preview codec to the same format/codec/bitrate/frame-size/rate of your export, it will of course create totally new media anyway.

      Thank you! So if I understand correctly, it is not necessary to render before exporting? The program will do this automatically upon export?

          this is totally wrong. Mine stay yellow reguardless if i chnage it to memory or metal. It turns green then after rendering it goes back to yellow. I literally cant view my footage. For reference im on an M1 mac mini 16gig ram trying to render rapid shuttering photos. About 30% of my TL is yellow and basically unwatchable

          A yellow timeline bar indicates that PrPro has something applied, such as an effect or difficult media, that might cause playback issues. It shouldn't mean that you cannot get playback. I often have large stretches with yellow bars that play perfectly without rendering.

           

          If it goes back to yellow after rendering, then usually either the rendered files are actually unavailable or of a poor choice.

           

          I've seen a couple posts where the app permissions were an issue ... PrPro would try to write the rendered file but couldn't access it even if successful. Odd, but they have happened.

           

          Another thing is to check the sequence settings to see the preview format chosen. You might do better by changing that option.
