24.3 (Beta) Build 22 - nothing plays

Ok. Not a very constructive day.

Yesterday everything was working great.

Today...nothing.

Timeline is there, thumbnails load in,  but nothing updates in the Program monitor when I drag the CTI.

Source footage won't load.

Simply won't play.

Even the play button doesn't change it's icon to stop when I click it.

Tried restart, reinstall, etc.

Nope.

Hmmmm....

I ended up creating an entire new project...then import my old one into the new one.

The timeline started playing!

Just when I was about to pop the champagne ...

Premiere basically says "hey, I should enhance the audio on this timeline"

then I can't play anymore (Arrrgh!)

 

I have deliberately removed all audio attributes from my timeline and disabled my source clip effects.

Still says it's has to Enhance the audio.

And it says it has to do it to my source clips AND to my multi-cam clips (?)

 

So I removed all my sequences except the two I'm desperately trying to get work.

I select everything and remove ALL AUDIO ATTRIBUTES.

I save & close.

I uninstall the Beta app.

I re-install the Beta app.

I make sure the Enhanced add on is NOT installed.

 

I open the project.

It won't play.

 

I check and Premiere says "Hey, I did you a favour and I installed this add-on for you. You're welcome."

And then it proceeds to try and apply enhancement to my dialogue clips in the timeline and my source clips- which have NO attributes applied to them at all.

 

I did absolutely nothing between yesterday and today...expect going from 24.2 to 23.3

But I only did that AFTER I started having this problem.

Tried going back. Didn't work.

 

Tried going back to the non-beta version.

Everything plays! I can hear all the tracks!

Problem is...the timeline only shows me video and doesn't show any audio tracks except 01 at all.

It plays the audio, but the display is basically saying the tracks don't exist.

Ended up having to go back 12 auto-saves earlier and found a point before I started applying Enhance speech.
I duplicated that and redid all my editing from then.

A little scared it may happen again. Saving unique versions often.

After I re-edited what I had lost it was working great.
Then I saw 24.2 was released.
I duplicated my project and went from 24.3  to 24.2 (as I didn't want to be on beta if I didn't need to)
It worked fine.
Quit and went back in. Works fine.
Quit and went back in. Works fine.
So I pushed forward and I worked all day.
Worked great.
Next day I opened my project (no change of anything since day before)
and once again it is not playing. 😱

So I went back to the Beta and it is was working again. 😮‍💨

I have been running on the 24.3 Beta version for over two weeks now with no apparent issues.

Further tries:

 

  • cleared caches
  • reset preferences
  • turned off all timeline checkboxes

 

For some reason, Premiere is applying Enc=hnaced speech onto clips I never applied Enhanced speech to.

If I select the clips and remove ALL audio attributes, it still keeps trying to enhance the speech. It says there are no attriputes, yet may audio checkboxes are still on.

 

 

Yesterday was a really good day.
