Question

Cannot access source file for transcript

Hello Community, I'm in Premier Pro beta. When I import audio a transcript is autogenerated, Love it! But, even though I can change the text, I'm unable to change the speaker names. I don't see the ellipses next to where it says Speaker 1 and Speaker 2.
There's a button, or Shift + Z option for the source and when I go there it says "No Dialog Found - to enable transcript services, your audio must contain unmuted verbal dialog". Nothing is muted and it ovbiously heard something because I can see the transcribed conversation and speskers.
What am I doing wrong?

You need to load your audio clip into the Source Monitor. You can do this by finding the audio in the Project panel and double clicking it, or by selecting it in the timeline and pressing "F" for "match frame". Leave the checkbox checked for "Follow active monitor" in the Text panel, and then the Text panel automatically focus on whichever is active, the Source Monitor, or the Timeline.

Once you have the audio with transcript in the Source Monitor, and the Text panel is looking to the Source, you will see the ellispes next to the speaker name to change it.

Thanks so much Matt. That worked perfectly. I have to admit that if everything in Premiere Pro added up to a mile, I think I know about two feet.
I also tried that on old recordings before beta came out and it populated a new transcript and with your help I can make changes to the transcript.
Thanks again.
