Issue with Color Space Conversion in Premiere Pro Beta

Hello Premiere Pro Beta Support Team,

I am experiencing a recurring issue with the color space conversion in Premiere Pro Beta, specifically when importing into my timeline images. Despite setting my project and sequence settings to use the default color space, the images undergo an unwanted color conversion once they are in the timeline, significantly affecting the visual quality and color accuracy of my outputs.

Here are the details of my workflow:

- Project Settings: sRGB IEC61966-2.1
- Sequence Settings: Set to Rec. 709, with auto tone mapping enabled.
- Source Clip Settings: Attempting to maintain sRGB for exported images, but the exported files shift away from the selected color profile.

This issue has been persistent, and manual adjustments for each image are cumbersome and not always effective. It appears that the color management system may not be retaining the specified settings, leading to these inconsistencies.

Could you please advise on any potential solutions or workarounds? Additionally, if this is a known issue, are there plans for an upcoming fix in a future Beta release? Your assistance in resolving this would greatly help streamline my editing process and ensure the color fidelity of my projects.

Thank you!

Hi @Nacho S

Thanks for reporting this issue.

We are actively looking into this and would have a fix soon available in beta builds.

I wonder if the idea of putting a version out every day is really benefitting Adobe much.

I believe that Adobe should deliver beta releases if they DON'T break the normal operation of the program for most Editors. Even for fun, non-critical projects, this can be really annoying, putting people off trying to test any of the Betas.

Clips are washed out when I import in Premiere Pro Beta but totally fine when I import in Premiere Pro official release version.

Please see attached screenshot.

Hi @JustTobel

Could you kindly share the clip format? Is it Log or RAW format?

Any other setting that you have applied? DCM, etc?

Clip was HLG3 BT.2020.

Tried converting it to Rec709 just like my usual workflow but no avail so I decided to reset the Premiere Pro Beta preferences and worked for me.

After the latest update, Premiere Pro (Beta) is making my videos to light. The colors seem washed out.

The video I import is fine. Here is the comparison. I have not changed any settings. This is a new project.

All was fine before todays update.

Can you help?

Thank you.

Hi @chuckgi

Could you kindly share the video format, color space and probably a snapshot of the Lumetri settings tab?

That would help figure out if something's wrong.

Thanks!

Hello,

I wanted to bring to your attention an issue I've encountered with the Premiere Pro Beta interface. The clips in both the program and source monitors are appearing washed out, regardless of the settings adjustments I make.

I believe this might be a bug, as when I switch to Premiere Pro 24 (updated version), the colors display correctly without any issues. I've attached a screenshot to illustrate the difference.

Could you please look into this? Let me know if you need any more details from my end.

Thanks for your help!

It's happening to me as well. Beta is washed out while the official release is ok.
