Question

keyboard shortcut playhead select clip

I have a keyboard smart action that uses "D" to select clip at playhead. With recent update (now using V26.10 -- I think change came a bit earlier), "D" no longer works.  It wants "d".  Looking at help file, it still says "D" is the command. This is a problem for me.  Can reversion to use "D" as the keyboard comman be made in Premiere Pro?

Ah! (as you say), that may work for me. I'll have to see if it causes any interference. I cannot see why that Premiere Pro change was intended. Can it be changed back? Currently your keyboard help documentation is incorrect.

Ah, thank you. That clarified it. I am able to duplicate this behavior. If you would like to shift d rather than just d, you can open the Keyboard Shortcuts and add that modification to that action.  However, it will disable a different shortcut, but you may not use that one as often.  Hope that helps.

I redid image inclusion, but it's hasn't shown here yet. Try again.....

I tried to include image for clarity.  Apparently I didn't do it correctly.

Hi @gr8bob,

I'm sorry. Can you provide a bit more context/ clarity for me? Do you have a custom keyboard shortcut that no longer works?  If you open your Keyboard Settings, do you see it?  Are you not able to reset it there?

I hope we can help you soon. Sorry for the frustration!

— editing in Premiere Pro: note the clip at the playhead (see marker at 0 time) — previously could hit "D" do select clip. With recent Premiere Pro update must use "d" rather than "D".
