Lost all hope with Premiere Pro beta

I continue to lose all hope with Premiere Pro beta. First I can't find the masking option in any of the effects, and now I can't create a simple shortcut. 

The default shortcut for "Render effects in and out" is supposed to be "Return" (or "Enter"). That wasn't working for me, so I went into keyboard shortcuts and deleted the default "Return" shortcut so i can re-enter it with the "Return" button, hoping it will sort of reset it. Now when I try to set "Return" as a shortcut, it just takes me out of the "Shortcuts" panel and back into my project without saving my "Return" button render shorcut. 

I was somewhat excited when Beta came out, seeing the possibities, but all the bugs I run into everytime I use it are very discouraging.
