Lumetri Color Panel Future

Hello Everyone.

I’ve been using Premiere Pro’s Lumetri Color panel for a long time, mainly relying on the Lumerti Color Panel, Color Wheel, Curves, and of course the Lumetri Scopes. Sometimes I also add third‑party tools like Maxon Magic Bullet and FilmConvert Nitrate, and I’ve always gotten great results with that workflow.

Recently, I tried the new Color Mode, but so far I still prefer the traditional Lumetri Color panel. That might just be because I’m not fully used to the new interface yet. I’m wondering whether, in the future, Adobe will allow us to switch back and forth between the original Lumetri panel and the new Color Mode, or if we’ll eventually be locked into the new system.

    Glad to hear you’re trying out the new Color Mode! Lumetri will continue to be available but only through the Effect Controls panel, rather than the Lumetri panel. 3rd-party plugins will also continue to work as they have in their respective panels and/or the ECP. Color Wheels and Curves tools will look and behave similarly to the way they have in the Lumetri panel, though the basic correction sliders don’t have the same appearance. If you’re missing those sliders, the good news is that the higher quality versions (based on the Color Mode tool updates) have been added to the Properties panel, for some light color work while in Edit Mode. As such, you should be able to use the Lumetri Effect as much as you like in this way, but you’ll get wonky results if you combine that effect with the new Color Effect.

    By the way, the main reason for this change is that we want to encourage the use of the better color pipeline, which will result in higher quality outputs and is also more flexible. Since combining them will never get a great or predictable result, Lumetri is supported but not encouraged.

      Hey there ! 
      We understand you need more time to learn and adapt to the new Color Mode. Lumteri that you see in beta today will be available, we have no plans to remove it anytime soon. We recommend you use Color or Lumetri and not mix the two. However, I imagine there will be a day many moons where we have enough reasons to get away from Lumetri.

      One has to mix as the Lumetri has been stripped down considerably.
