Metadata & Timecode Burn-in effect

Any idea when the Metadata & Timecode Burn-in effect will be moved into the public version?  The obsolete timecode effect in version 15.4 does not interpret footage correctly and leads to a ton of extra mouse clicks to get the correct timecode settings.

No date has been established; there remains a good deal of "finishing up" work to do, on that effect.

So this effect is pretty good now - similar to Avid - but would be good to have some global controls - eg scale, position, text size, padding, styles, templates etc - suspect it'd be better taking its inspiration from essential graphics panel.

Also best if it can access any metadata.

Is there any update on when this will be made public? It has been a very long time and this is a vital effect for professional work in the TV and film industry

This feature has been in "beta" for years now, literally. Please can you sort it out? Thanks.

Sort it out? Yes, we'll release it once it's ready.

Instead of using timecode as an effect on the timeline, you may also add it as an effect in the Export stage. Twirl down the Effects section and select the Timecode Overlay.

Does that help in solving your issue?

Thanks Bruce. One can only hope sooner than later since the obsolete one is borked.
