Needed to restart program to open files to project

after a time of edit i wanted to get in some new clips to the project. 

It just stands in the media browser and "processing" then hangs after open a clip that is "processed" in the media browser.

Confirming: The Media Browser hangs, while processing a specific piece of media?
You say 'open a clip'; does that mean you successfully imported it? Or just that the Media Browser successfully displayed it? 

Also...is this specific to PPro Beta version, or 14.0.4 (the shipping version)?
