Object Mask Tool isssue

I’m experiencing an issue with the Object Mask Tool. When I click on it, the tool does not activate. The only way to make it work is to close the project and reopen it again. This issue keeps happening and is disrupting my workflow.

object mask tool is not working in 26 release, when i try to use object mask tool it is asking for render, with out render it is only showing black video where as in beta release it is working proper. When can i expect this feature in 26 release.
