The locking of the thread where you first announced this UI change months ago leaves me no choice but to make a new post for it entirely. I don't know how, after an entire thread of people saying that they dislike the change save for maybe two or three outliers, you can still insist on maintaining this rounded corner aesthetic in software that is used by thousands for the purpose of cutting and editing PRECISELY. The argument of it being better 'because of psychology' is so bogus, and despite the renouncing of it from your users, your only reply on the subject consisted of 'i didn't like it either, but i got used to it, and now the old version looks old', completely sidestepping the point that people were trying to make.

If we can't see sharp edges where its implied that clips are connecting without a gap, then ADDING a gap via rounding will create the illusion or ambiguity that there may be an unintended gap. Sharp edges also mean that aligning footage vertically on multiple tracks where necessary is far easier than if they were rounded.

There's NO functional benefit, and those who don't wish to be forced into a design change without functional benefit shouldn't have to be. Its ONE checkbox to add in Preferences. On behalf of all the people screaming at you to do this, please do it.

Agreed. Form Follows Function is an excellent principle for the design of an end product. It shouldn't even be an argument regarding the design of a professional tool.

I have been sour on Adobe for a long time, but this officially pushes Premiere Pro into "I wouldn't even pirate your product" territory. Modern UI design is absolute garbage. I looked at a screenshot of Premiere Pro CS4 for this post. Frankly, that's the UI you need to get back to. Stop wasting time with all this "modern" slop and give us something that's functional first, second, and third, with form a distant tenth.

Be sure to upvote. Big number, upper left, next to thread title.

Agreed, rounded corners is a complete regression of functionality. I've been using 25.0 almost exclusively because of them.

I agree. Comparing a timeline in v25.0.0 to the Beta, the new design clearly makes editing harder. The rounded corners reduce visual precision, for instance I find the audio cut at 00:00:01:16 much harder to see.
