PPro forgets linked AE comps and hangs when relinking
version: 22.1.0x110
Dynamically Linked comps are unusable in the latest release of PPro Beta. If I load up a previously created project (which works perfectly in the public release PPro 2021), it always forgets the links for the DL comps. They show up as missing in the Project Panel, even though the file locations have not changed, and the project loads/links perfectly in PPro 2021. If I then Relink a comp, the file slector box appears, with the correct AE project already highlighted (so PPro does really know where to find it). If I then choose that project and click OK, PPro always hangs, and my CPU and disks are showing around 0% usage, so PPro is clearly doing nothing. The only workaround is to render stuff out of AE and drop the movie onto the timeline like in ye olden dayes.
As a side note, after I went through the non-linking process above, then did a force-quit of PPro Beta, then reloaded PPro Beta and that same project, then deleted the DL comps from my timeline, and attempted to use the dreadful new Export process, PPro just sat there, with no progress on the progress bar, and no CPU usage for a few minutes until I cancelled it (at least PPro didn't hang, which was a nice change). I then did the same export, but sent it to Media Encoder, and that failed to even fully load the project. Clicking Cancel caused ME to hang, so I force-quitted that, text-edited the project file's version number, loaded it in PPro 2021, it relinked all my DL comps, I then exported it using the glorious, perfect export process and it just did it. Happy user, happy client.
I'm on a Windows 10 system.
