Premiere Beta 26.5/27.0 does not scan any VST3 or AU audio plug-ins on macOS
I am experiencing an audio plug-in scanning issue in Premiere Beta on my MacBook Pro with Apple Silicon (M1 Pro) and macOS Tahoe 26.6.2.
The Audio Plug-In Manager remains completely empty after scanning. It does not detect any VST, VST3, or Audio Unit plug-ins. This affects Supertone/Antinode Clear, but the problem is not limited to that plug-in.
The same plug-ins work correctly in the regular release version of Premiere 2026 on the same Mac.
The problem occurs in both Premiere Beta 26.5 and 27.0. Clear and my other audio plug-ins worked in Premiere Beta before I uninstalled the application and selected “Remove” for its preferences and plug-in settings. After reinstalling Premiere Beta, it could no longer rebuild the audio plug-in database.
I have already tried:
-
A clean uninstall and reinstall of Premiere Beta 27.0
-
Resetting application preferences and the plug-in loading cache
-
Selecting “Rescan existing plug-ins”
-
Manually adding
/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST3 -
Granting Premiere Beta Full Disk Access in macOS
-
Restarting the Mac
-
Disconnecting external drives containing duplicate plug-in files
-
Verifying that Clear is installed in the correct VST, VST3, and AU folders
-
Verifying that the Clear VST3 binary is universal for arm64 and x86_64
-
Verifying that the Clear plug-in has a valid code signature
The scan still completes without displaying any plug-ins.
I found similar reports in the Adobe Community concerning Premiere Beta 26 and 27 on recent macOS versions, where the Audio Plug-In Manager returns an empty list while the release version of Premiere works normally.
This issue is especially serious because projects saved in Premiere Beta 27 cannot be opened in the regular release version or older Beta versions. Some of my existing Beta projects use Clear, and I am currently unable to continue working with those effects.
Could you please confirm whether this is a known issue and whether a fix is planned? I would also appreciate any supported workaround that can rebuild or restore the audio plug-in database in Premiere Beta.
