Premiere Beta Text-based editing not working

I was excited to hear about the text based editing available in the beta version of Premiere Pro. I am using 23.5.0 BETA (Build 31) on a 2021 Macbook Pro 14-inch. I opened up a project, transcribed a sequence, and see the transcript in the transcript window. However, I can't seem to actually delete text. I've used the delete key and tried right-clicking and selecting the ripple delete, but it isn't working. What am I doing wrong?

You need to make sure the "Automatically set in / Outpoints" button is selected. This button is located in the Transctipt box on the top bar.

Make sure to also have the editing timline box selected.

jonathanj,

A screenshot would help. Are you entering edit mode ("correct text")? Are you trying to correct the transcript? Or mark section to add, or remove, from a timeline?
