Premiere Pro Beta seems to be super buggy

I tried to use the Beta version of Premiere Pro (I really wanted access to the automated speech-to-text transcription, but have failed to gain access to the feature, despite several applications and requests), and it has been the buggiest Adobe app yet. I understand that's what "beta" means, but it is turning out to mean "unreliable" for me. I'm working on a really important project for a client and I keep getting system crashes, unexpected quits, and general freezing of EVERYTHING. I've re-booted my computer, cleared out caches, made sure I have plenty of memory available, but nothing seems to help.

And since I can't use the project I've created in Beta in previous versions of Premiere, I'm simply screwed.

Not happy.

Sorry to hear you are having issues. What are your computer, media and storage hardware details?

You can export an XML of your beta project and import that into an older version of Premiere. Might be missing a few details, but at least it gets most of what you need to go back to the older version.

I was able to open the project in Premiere v 15.0 (from the Beta version of 15.2) and at least it worked. Unfortunately, I cannot go back to the previous version of 14.9 unless performing an XML export as you recommended.

I have determined that it is likely not my computers (I have tried on both my Macbook pro, 2.7Ghz quad-core i7 16GB RAM, as well as my desktop MacPro 3.7Ghz 6 core Xeon e5 processor 16GB). I have plenty of available memory on each machine and I'm running Catalina 10.15.7.

I'm still getting multiple errors and sudden crashes in both Premiere and Adobe Media Encoder.

I've reset all my preferences when opening Premiere, set my project render settings for "Mercury Playback Engine Software Only," and am trying to transcode to a more edit-friendly codec of Apple ProRes 422LT.

Still having difficulties exporting projects and I'm stumped.

Trying to work through the issues without getting an ulcer!
