Text Editing Major Issue with Extraction!

Hi! Whenever I am extracting text in the text editing feature of my video, it keeps jumping ahead to a random spot in my sequence after every single extraction, so I have to constantly scroll back to find where I had made the extraction and try to keep going from there. Please help! This is majorly slowing down what could be a wonderful assembly editing process!
